After getting off the stage, Al was trying to make his way towards the food tables in the back. He did expect to encounter people wanting to take pictures with him, or to obtain an autograph. The number of people and the amount of time they took, however, were longer than he expected. Or was it because he was kind of in a hurry to get to the back? Al was unsure. Nonetheless, Al kept his smile and handled the crowd with grace. Just when he was about done, a staff member tapped him on the arm, informing him that the corporate executives were asking for him.

1、時(shí)態(tài)誤用
不少同學(xué)寫(xiě)作時(shí)過(guò)于匆忙，還沒(méi)弄清文章的主體時(shí)態(tài)就下筆，導(dǎo)致時(shí)態(tài)誤用，造成失分。面對(duì)不同的作文題材，我們應(yīng)運(yùn)用合適的時(shí)態(tài)。
例如，一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)多用于描述事物的`特性、用途或介紹某地的地理位置，人口等;一般過(guò)去時(shí)則多用于介紹人物生平經(jīng)歷、已經(jīng)開(kāi)展的調(diào)查、報(bào)告等;而一般將來(lái)時(shí)多用于尚未發(fā)生但準(zhǔn)備開(kāi)展的比賽或通知等。
2、缺乏“詞匯美”
高級(jí)詞匯使用恰當(dāng)能把作文提升一個(gè)檔次。作文中的高級(jí)詞匯主要體現(xiàn)在動(dòng)詞和形容詞的運(yùn)用。
同學(xué)在平日可以對(duì)詞義相近的單詞進(jìn)行歸納總結(jié)，例如， complete，fulfill，accomplish，achieve，四者都代表“完成”意思。寫(xiě)作文時(shí)，只需把簡(jiǎn)單詞匯換成高級(jí)詞匯就能讓作文華麗“大變身”。
3、丟失“銜接美”
我們一般會(huì)在句首或句中增添一些連接詞，使得上下文通順連貫。當(dāng)我們說(shuō)起連接詞時(shí)，相信大部分同學(xué)首先想到but，because，so這類(lèi)簡(jiǎn)單連詞。但在改卷過(guò)程中，老師更欣賞使用如on the contrary ，as the result of，owing to的連接短語(yǔ)。
其實(shí)這類(lèi)連詞或短語(yǔ)大家都背過(guò)不少，可是寫(xiě)作文時(shí)總忘記學(xué)以致用，把學(xué)過(guò)的連接詞都忘記得一干二凈。
4、忘記“句式美”
有的同學(xué)缺乏句型積累，所以通篇運(yùn)用簡(jiǎn)單陳述句，句式平淡無(wú)味，很難吸引老師眼球。反之，如果同學(xué)們能適當(dāng)運(yùn)用復(fù)合句、強(qiáng)調(diào)句型、非謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞，或with的復(fù)合結(jié)構(gòu)。文章的句式就會(huì)多變，內(nèi)容描述會(huì)生動(dòng)起來(lái)，分?jǐn)?shù)也隨之提高。
例如：This book was so interesting that I read it again and again.
這本書(shū)是如此的有趣，以致我讀了一遍又一遍。
這是簡(jiǎn)單的so…that句型的句子，如果把句型換成：
So interesting was this book that I read it again and again.
該句從一般陳述句改成倒裝句，會(huì)讓老師眼前一亮。
