The graph shows the increase in the ageing population in Japan, Sweden and the USA. It indicates that the

porcentage of elderly people in all three countries is expected to increase to almost 25% of the respective populations by the year 20xx.

In 1940 the proportion of people aged 65 or more atood at only 5% in Japan, approximately 7% in Sweden and 9% in the US. However, while the figures for the Western countries grew to about 15% in around 1990,the figure for Japan dippped to only 2.5% for much of this period, before rising to almost 5% again at the present time.

In spite of some fluctuation in the expected percentages, the proportion of older people will probably continue to increase in the next two decades in the three countries. A more dramatic rise is predicted between 20xx and 20xx in Japan, by which time it is thought that the proportion of elderly people will be simliar in the three countries.

    中國(guó)英語(yǔ)作文 篇4

It was pretty sunny last Monday , I , together with a few my alien friends and gusts cycled to your holley destination —— the Great Wall. To tell you the truth , we have been imagining visiting there for quite a long time , and eventually we fulfilled our dream .

After approximately one hour’s cycling , the grand splendid construction appeared in front of us . “our efforts count!” one of my foreign friends shouted stimulatedly. The Great Wall, which looks much likely a huge stationary dragon , lies silently on the beautiful , historical ground . “That’s regarded as the symbol of China ! ” I said proudly ,’It is one of the ten architecture miracles on the earth ! ’

With a delightful and modest sensation , we walked upwards the respectable construction , feeling the incredible intelligence of ancient Chinese architects and labours . In the process of climbing , I sincerely wish that China would become stronger and stronger.

We spent the whole afternoon on the wall , and no one felt like going back until too late in the evening . We do enjoy this significant journey !

Qin Shi Huangdi, First Chinese Emperor

A ruler from the western state of Qin united and subjugated the Warring States and formed China in 221 B.C. He declared himself the first emperor of China and named himself Shi Huangdi (meaning First Emperor).

During the Qin (Ch'in) Dynasty (221 B.C. - 206 B.C.), the emperor connected and extended the old fortification walls along the north of China that originated about 700 B.C. (over 2500 years ago), forming the Great Wall of China to stop invading barbarians from the north.

The Emperor standardized Chinese writing, bureaucracy, scholarship, law, currency, weights and measures. He expanded the Chinese empire, built a capital in Xian, a system of roads, and massive fortifications and palaces.

Shi Huangdi (259-210 B.C.) was a cruel ruler who readily killed or banished those who opposed him or his ideas. He is notorious for burning virtually all the books that remained from previous regimes. He even banned scholarly discussions of the past.

The Qin dynasty ended soon after his death, but a unified China remained for over 2,000 years. China's name is derived from his short but seminal dynasty, Qin (pronounced Chin).

the past thirty years has vitnessed great changes in china since our government carried out reform and open policy. under the proper leadership of chinese communist party, we chinese are marching on the broad way to a more powerful, more prosperous and more harmonious socialist country, realizing the chinese dream. as far as i'm concerned, chinese dream is my dream, that is, we are born equal in face of opportunity. to realize the chinese dream, i think, just as premier li said: action speaks louder than words. simultaneously, a series of legal and administrative measures should be reinforced so that everyting shall be done in line with the law. so long as we chinese unite together and continue its reform and open policy, we are sure to overcome all difficulties and the chinese dream will come true in the near future---that is my dream.
