Bitterly cold winter may once come, but now it has gone.
As my bike has been stolen, I have to run from one teaching building to another every day.
The bell declares the end of the last lesson and the beginning of a new journey. Tired as I am, at the sight of the bench, I go straight to it. As soon as I get seated, a world of fresh green immediately catches my eyes. Grass sprouts burst through the soil right in the place of the withered grass and turn the dull grey into fresh green. As I look up, I find those tall trees have also put on new clothes. Green, here and there, everywhere!Spring has come, I realize suddenly.
A breeze stirs, sending over breaths of fragrance. I trace it,surprised to find several lovely small white flowers dotted on a tree. And there are even some singing birds! I am so delighted with all these tiny lives that my fatigue vanishes all of a sudden.
The sky shows its purest blue. The sun generously gives out its heat and light, shining evenly on the grass, on the trees,on the roofs of houses, on the people passing by, also on me,quietly and tenderly. There come a couple of young people,strolling leisurely. A group of students are sitting in a circle on the grass and discussing something heatedly. Some are reading English but in low voices afraid of breaking the peace of the campus. Others are lying on the lawn, having a nap, or just enjoying the sunshine as I am.
I feel I am free, free of thinking anything. In such a pleasing environment, doing anything is a great pleasure. I am fully indulged in this tranquility. If only time could stop!
I turn on the radio to enjoy some light music. Much to my disappointment, however, almost all the programs are about the war in Iraq. It is hard to believe that under the same blue sky,some people are suffering from bleeding and death of war while others are enjoying a happy life.
The sun is hidden by the clouds. After a few seconds, it shines brightly again.
Peaceful life seems to have gone, but it will come back one day, I am sure.
寒冷的冬天也許曾經(jīng)來(lái)過(guò)，但現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)過(guò)去了。
由于我的自行車被偷了，我不得不每天從一幢教學(xué)樓跑到另一棟教學(xué)樓。

天空顯示出最純凈的藍(lán)色。太陽(yáng)慷慨地散發(fā)出它的熱和光，均勻地照射在草地上，樹(shù)上，屋頂上，還有路過(guò)的人們身上，靜靜地，溫柔地照耀著我。來(lái)了幾個(gè)年輕人，悠閑地散步。一群學(xué)生圍坐成一圈在草地上討論熱烈。有些人在讀英語(yǔ)，但聲音很低，害怕打破校園的寧?kù)o。其他人躺在草地上小睡一會(huì)兒，或者像我一樣享受陽(yáng)光。
我覺(jué)得我是自由的，自由思考什么。在這樣一個(gè)令人愉快的環(huán)境中，做任何事都是一種極大的樂(lè)趣。我完全沉浸在這種寧?kù)o中。如果時(shí)間能停止！
我打開(kāi)收音機(jī)，享受一些輕松的音樂(lè)。然而，令我失望的是，幾乎所有的節(jié)目都是關(guān)于伊拉克戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)的。很難相信在同一片藍(lán)天下，有人在流血和戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)中死去，而另一些人卻過(guò)著幸福的生活。
太陽(yáng)被云遮住了。幾秒鐘后，它再次照耀。

記得那天的第一節(jié)英語(yǔ)課，老師就打下了預(yù)防針。老師把我們?nèi)喾至耸䝼�(gè)小組。每天上課檢查課文和單詞的背誦，實(shí)際上就是兩個(gè)人分別各背一遍，誰(shuí)背得又快又好，就贏了，加分；輸了，就扣分。另外每人每天都要教聽(tīng)力條，不交的，扣20分。另外，每學(xué)期都要一清分，正分的組，有獎(jiǎng)勵(lì)。負(fù)分的`組，需挑一人抄課文。老師剛一說(shuō)完，全班好象炸開(kāi)了鍋，議論紛紛：這課還怎么上啊，這制度簡(jiǎn)直要人命啊！就是呀，這哪是上課�。∥铱棺h！不少同學(xué)直接提出抗議，結(jié)果老師給全班小組都扣了30分，某些同學(xué)被罰今晚抄課文，全班同學(xué)都傻了。立刻變得鴉雀無(wú)聲。
下了課，同學(xué)們憤憤不平，可是，又能怎么樣呢？我們班的鬧事大王可是頭一次吃這么打的虧，頭一次遇到這么嚴(yán)厲的老師。不少同學(xué)在默默背課文，強(qiáng)壓著心里的怒火。
第二天上課上，老師第一件事就是查聽(tīng)力字條。結(jié)果，全班不少小組都吃了啞巴虧，扣分像流水似的。之后老師又檢查課文背誦，有好幾個(gè)同學(xué)像結(jié)巴了一樣，支支吾吾了半天，什么也沒(méi)背出來(lái)，結(jié)果每人被罰抄課文，又扣了20分，只能悻悻離去。同學(xué)們一個(gè)個(gè)大眼瞪小眼，驚恐的看著老師。
就這樣，幾個(gè)月下來(lái)，全班小組都成了負(fù)分，這意味著，全班寒假都要抄課文了。同學(xué)們很多都垂頭喪氣，任人宰割。但是還得學(xué)習(xí)。但有一天，事件終于迎來(lái)了轉(zhuǎn)機(jī)。
這天，剛一上課，英語(yǔ)課代表就把手舉得高高的。干什么呀？老師拿書敲了一下桌子，問(wèn)英語(yǔ)課代表。老師嚴(yán)肅的目光又有點(diǎn)讓人害怕，看著課代表。課代表趕緊避開(kāi)英語(yǔ)老師的目光，說(shuō)：我要挑戰(zhàn)。剛說(shuō)完，全班好幾十雙眼睛齊刷刷的瞪著她。她頓了一下，可能是對(duì)老師的威嚴(yán)有點(diǎn)兒害怕。我要挑戰(zhàn)，她轉(zhuǎn)過(guò)身，指向副課代表老趙。他。這時(shí)，全班的目光又投向了老趙。誰(shuí)？站起來(lái)！老師那敏銳的雙眼仔細(xì)瞧著每一個(gè)同學(xué)，老趙還沒(méi)起來(lái)，老師已經(jīng)走到他身邊了。老趙站了起來(lái)，目光慌亂，低頭看著桌子。這時(shí)，老趙的同桌一再給他打氣。小聲說(shuō)：緊張什么呀？咱們不可能讓女生給比下去。準(zhǔn)備好了嗎，那就開(kāi)始吧。老師的話語(yǔ)中帶著鼓勵(lì)。老趙抬起頭來(lái)，他的目光與老師的目光相遇了，仿佛擦出了火花。他知道，不比不行了。
老師拿起書，敲了幾下桌子，鄭重地說(shuō)：這是你們班第一次主動(dòng)挑戰(zhàn)賽，你們不應(yīng)該忘記！開(kāi)始！老師一聲令下，英語(yǔ)課代表?yè)屜缺痴b。時(shí)間仿佛凝固住了，令人喘不過(guò)氣來(lái)。英語(yǔ)課代表不愧是英語(yǔ)課代表，不一會(huì)兒，就背完了，沒(méi)有絲毫錯(cuò)誤，十分流利。同學(xué)們不僅鼓起了掌。該老趙背了，他剛開(kāi)始背，有點(diǎn)語(yǔ)塞，不一會(huì)就好了。他雖然背的也很好，但和英語(yǔ)課代表來(lái)說(shuō)，還略遜一籌。全班靜了下來(lái)，等待老師發(fā)話。
過(guò)了好一會(huì)兒，老師終于說(shuō)話了：每人各加二十分！全本頓時(shí)響起了熱烈的掌聲！掌聲過(guò)后，好幾個(gè)同學(xué)舉起了手。
從此，在英語(yǔ)課上，要比賽的人絡(luò)繹不絕。記得是快期末考試的時(shí)候，上級(jí)教育主管部門來(lái)我們學(xué)校抽查各門學(xué)科成績(jī)。我們班在全級(jí)里是成績(jī)最好的，在口語(yǔ)課上，別的班的同學(xué)不少都磕磕絆絆，而我們班同學(xué)們大多同色的完成了老師的提問(wèn)。并且很多同學(xué)都對(duì)答如流。為什么呢？這都是在課文比拼中，大家都鍛練了自己英語(yǔ)靈活運(yùn)用能力和表達(dá)的勇氣，培養(yǎng)了同學(xué)們的沉著和機(jī)智，以及爭(zhēng)強(qiáng)好勝向上的心！
