按系統(tǒng)論的觀點,外語教學是一個系統(tǒng),寫作教學是其中的一個子系統(tǒng),與聽、說、讀等教學共同構成一個科學的大系統(tǒng),它是由英語詞匯、語法、主題及其寫作手法等互相依賴、互相作用的諸要素組成的有機整體。在小學階段,大部分老師都非常注重學生的聽、說和閱讀能力的培養(yǎng)和訓練,往往忽視了寫作能力的訓練,認為這是中學的要求,或者是因為覺得寫作教學難,教師批改學生作文也難,因此一般對閱讀理解較重視,而對寫的重要性認識不足,忽視學生寫的能力培養(yǎng)。我認為英語寫作能喚起學生對所學或所掌握的語言的感覺;其次,每一次單元測試和期末考試,寫作(寫話)也占了一定的比例。因此,在小學高年級,英語的寫作訓練與聽、說、讀的訓練同等重要。
一、小學英語話題寫作的概念
小學高年級的英語寫作是指學生能在教師指導下,圍繞一個主題自覺運用所學的單詞、句型起草一篇短小的習作或一兩段話,初步能注意英漢的差異,能使用正確的英語表達法。
二、英語寫作教學的目的
1、提高學生綜合運用語言的能力;
2、發(fā)展學生從口頭表達轉向書面表達的能力;
3、讓學生主動地整合所學的語法、句型等知識點,把它們變成一個有機的整體。
三、英語寫作的常用模式
1、填空式寫法
英語語音教學強調模仿,但英語寫作教學卻忽視模仿的作用。寫作起步階段可多進行摹仿寫。填空式寫作是保留文章或對話的主干,適當地調換內容讓學生換上其它人、事和物進行填空。其優(yōu)點是既降低寫作難度,激發(fā)學生寫作興趣,又可加深對課文的理解,特別是新舊單詞的綜合運用;缺點是學生有可能忽視語法、時態(tài)問題,在培養(yǎng)學生創(chuàng)造力方面有欠缺。通?梢栽诿繉W完一篇課文或對話后,讓學生進行填空寫作。
2、仿例寫法
學完一個完整的單元,為了幫助學生系統(tǒng)歸納、整理語言知識點,教師根據本
單元的教學要點,圍繞一個人、一件事或一個動物寫一篇短文,要求學生注意模仿例文的時態(tài)和語態(tài)仿寫。通過仿寫訓練,能引起學生對英語時態(tài)和語態(tài)的重視。例如一般現在時主語是第三人稱單數,動詞加“s”或“es”,這是學習的難點。我讓學生先寫一寫自己一天的生活,然后調查一個朋友或親人一天的生活,模仿例文仿寫。通過對比,使學生對同一時態(tài)不同人稱動詞的運用有了更深刻的理解,而不僅僅停留在記憶的層面上,也可免去老師重重復復的講解和提醒。
3、啟示式寫法
前兩種寫法的缺點是局限較大,不能發(fā)揮學生創(chuàng)造力,習作不能體現學生個性。啟示式寫法是在學生有了一定習作基礎和語感上,稍高層次的寫作訓練。師生共同圍繞一個話題討論寫作內容,列出寫作提綱,然后學生根據提綱自由發(fā)揮起草一段話。例如,師生圍繞“zoo animals”這個話題進行討論,得出可從“外形、能力、生活習性,來源國”等幾方面進行描述。學生自由發(fā)揮,寫出頗具個人特色小文章。此法的優(yōu)點是既可體現學生個性,也避免學生跑題等現象的發(fā)生。
4、命題式寫法
此寫法給予學生更大創(chuàng)意空間,難度也更大。教師只給予題目或主題,學生通過啟動自身知識體系的搜索引擎,自主地搜集相關資料進行寫作。例如寫“Seasons in Guangzhou”,學生仔細瀏覽我設計的相關網頁,選取某一個季節(jié)中一兩個感興趣的主題來表述,如“氣候、衣著、食物和活動”等等。選題要與學生生活密切相關,并能激起他們寫作的欲望;切忌主題過大,會讓學生無所適從或無從下手。
四、注重寫作策略的指導
1、“聯系”和“遷移”
在寫作課“zoo animals”上,我讓學生討論這個主題可以涵括的.內容,要求學生在已有的詞匯、句型中進行分析,提取相關信息,再綜合運用。實際上就是要求學生聯系所學知識,是對學生分析綜合能力的訓練。這時候,學生認為這足以能指導完成寫作了,他們的思維通常到這個階段就停滯不前了。但教師還應該培養(yǎng)學生遷移的能力,即把這種思考方式遷移到其他內容的寫作上去,做到舉一反三。
2、注意英漢差異,正確使用英語表達法
許多學生寫英文短文,都習慣用漢語去思考。結果寫出來的句子,讀起來很拗口,句意生硬,令人費解。其原因就在于學生不明白英漢兩種語言表達上的差異。例如,漢語中沒有時態(tài)和語態(tài)的復雜變化,只借助于助詞“著,了,過”;而英語則有復雜的時態(tài)和語態(tài)變化。再如,英語中名詞分(1)可數名詞———單數名詞———復數名詞--規(guī)則名詞復數的變化;不規(guī)則名詞復數的變化(2)不可數名詞:water furniture , advice (3)名詞單復數相同:sheep , deer , fish (4)既能可數又不可數的名詞:hair , wood , pa?鄄per , rain , sand 。動詞短語,介詞短語等一些固定搭配,動詞與其主語的一致,稱謂的一致,等等。這些差異只要通過不斷的積累和運用,才能逐步達到恰到好處。英語寫作才能更規(guī)范,更標準,更符合英美人的表達習慣。
3、充分利用小組合作學習的力量。
通過小組成員相互鑒賞閱讀,學會欣賞和借鑒別人的好詞好句。
五、培養(yǎng)自改作文的能力,發(fā)揮學生主動性
我們總碰到這種現象:學生寫完作文不經修改就交給老師,對老師形成依賴心理。在寫作的初級階段,可采取師生共同改一篇習作,指出學生普遍性錯誤,提醒學生注意;鼓勵學生同一個意思用不同的表達方式。我認為修改階段是反饋機制下的一個開放性過程,是通過師生信息互動,使學生的作文逐步完善的過程。采取反饋和同伴間互相閱讀作文的方法,也可以形成一種語言意識。學生既是作者又是讀者,他們通過批評性地閱讀別人的作文,可以學到更多的寫作知識和技巧;他們時刻留心語法及用詞錯誤,寫作時開始想到的是讀者(而非教師)。學生作文經教師批改后,修訂工作是通過個人作業(yè)和小組活動相結合進行的。這種做法能使學生學得更深、更廣、更活,還能培養(yǎng)學生總結歸納的能力。
總之,學生英語寫作能力在教師有計劃的組織、有序的訓練和耐心幫助、正確引導下,通過學生自主、積極密切的配合是能夠得以逐步提高的。
