Blood Test
Let me toll you something interesting, The other day we were having physical examination. We were tested twice on our blood. Once it was 5ml to test the function of the Iiver. The other time the blood was taken from our ring finger to test the blood type, blood cells, white cells or something.
It was during the second drawing of blood that something happened. An old lady was standing there. Dear me! She took a needle and pricked me in such a way that it appeared that she wasnot testing my blood, but was sewing a shoe sole instead. As a result, it left me moaning gently.
Standing behind me and seeing me in such pains, Miss Liang Liying tried hard to be mentally prepared. She tightened her fist and turned her face away from it. As soon as the lady pricked the needle into her finger She cried out "Oh, dear!" and jumped back with her mouth wide open, revealing her teeth.
It was really painful. It was some time before we got over it. Recalling what had happened, we could not help but laugh at each other.

讓我給你講一件趣事。那一天，我們進(jìn)行體檢，被抽了兩次血：一次是5毫升，檢驗(yàn)肝功能；另一次抽無(wú)名指血，查血型、血細(xì)胞、白細(xì)胞或其它什么項(xiàng)目。
事情就出在這第2次抽血上。抽血的老太太站立在那兒。天呀，她拿起個(gè)針頭就狠勁地往下戳，簡(jiǎn)直不像在抽血做化驗(yàn)，而是在錐鞋底呢。這一下弄得我不由自主地嘶嘶作聲。
排在我的'后面的梁麗英小姐看見(jiàn)我這副樣子，不由得在那兒拼命做好思想準(zhǔn)備，只見(jiàn)她手握得緊緊的，可頭卻扭開(kāi)了。當(dāng)老太太把針猛一戳她的手指時(shí)，她立刻唉喲喲地大叫了起來(lái)，上蹦下跳，呲牙裂嘴。
抽血實(shí)在是痛苦之事。好不容易待到疼痛過(guò)去了，兩人一道回味時(shí)，便忍不住地相對(duì)而笑。

With the quick development of technology, people are surrounded by all kinds of electronic devices. And more people aretending to read books by computers or phones rather than go to library to read books. Hence, there is a hot debate on whether e-books will replace paper-books. Some people think that e-books will prevail since e-book is so convenient that we can take it to anywhere to read. Some argue that paper-book would notbe replaced for paper-book takes the responsibility to pass down knowledge. Formy perspective, I think e-book will replace paper-book eventually. Reasons arelisted below.
Firstly, e-book is more convenient than paper-book. Nowadays, almost all people have cell-phones or computers, so they can just download e-books immediately. Wherever they go, they don’t have to take a heavy paper-book but just take their device out and enjoy the fun of reading.
Secondly, e-book is much cheaper than paper-book. If we need to buy paper- books, then we have to pay a lot of money on them. However on the contrary, we can search e-books on the Internet and just need to pay little or even get e-books we want for free.
All in all, e-book will replace paper-book in the near future because it is more convenience and much cheaper than the paper-book.

其次，電子書(shū)比紙質(zhì)書(shū)更便宜。如果我們要買紙質(zhì)書(shū)的話，通常需要支付大量的金錢。但是相反地，我們只需要在網(wǎng)上搜索電子書(shū)，支付一點(diǎn)點(diǎn)兒錢甚至免費(fèi)的情況下就可以得到我們想要的書(shū)籍了。

I m very lucky to attend this world-famous university, but I m afraid I m not content with the canteen service on campus.
Firstly, the quality of the dishes should be improved. Undoubtedly, there are a lot of delicious dishes, but all the year round, they are the same. More and more students are complaining about eating the same food each day. So I think the most urgent problem is variety.
Secondly, the price is a bit too high. Many of us hope that the canteen can provide us with not only delicious but also cheaper food.
Finally, the environment is so noisy that we can t enjoy our meals in good mood. I suggest that there be some soft music to help us relax.
These suggestions are not just of my own, but also of may other students. We hope our respectable president will pay attention to our suggestions.
By the way, the canteen workers are very patient and always smiling. So I think if our university offers them better conditions, they will offer us better service.

With SARS gradually passing its peak, more and more people take off their gauze masks. They feel released and have more freedom to breathe in fresh air. However, a certain number of people have restored their bad habit and start to spit everywhere. Now and then, whether in the street, or on the bus, or in city gardens, we will see some people, the fine ladies and gentilemen, spitting without feeling a bit ashamed as shown in the picture. When shown the" NO SPITTING !sign, they just turn a blind eye to it. Still worse, people around have to be on guard against the sudden attack of ＇spit
shot" from the spitters.
Spitting is a terrible habit. For one thing, it is-entirely uncivilized. The world has entered the 21st century and human civilization has reached a more advanced stage.Why can＇t those people remove this ugly habit? Is it because they think the earth is a gigantic spittoon? For another thing, spitting does great harm to public health. According to chemical laboratory test, one sputum contains thousands upon thousands of germs and SARS viruses if the spitter is a SARS Sufferer. As was reported, the Beijing Municipal Government once mobilized an army of a thousand sanitation workers to clean out the mess in Tian An Men Square.
For people to get rid of this uncivilized behaviour, we suggest local authorities strengthen education by publicizing the harmfulness of spitting, and at the same time, enforce the law of punishment.
Finally, we, citizens of the earth, must he self-disciplined, love our Mother Earth and don＇t dirty her.
