Stress
Stress comes in all shapes and size, and has become pervasive, it seems to penetrate everything and everybody, it's hard to get through a day without hearing or reading
something about stress. Some doctors refer to stress as some kind of new plague. However, numerous surveys confirm that the problem has progressively risen since the 1980s. Why all the disorder? After all, stress has been around since Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden, Stress is an unavoidable consequence of life. Without stress, there would be no life. However, just as distress can caw disease, there are good stresses that balance this, and promote wellness.
Increased stress results in increased productivity--up to a point. However, this level differs for each of us. It's very much like the stress on a violin string. Not enough produces a dull. harsh sound. Too much makes sharp, annoying noir, or causes the string to snap. However, just the right degree can create magnificent tones. Similarly, we all need to find the proper level of stress that promotes optimal performance, and enables us to make harmonious
music. Good health is more than just the absence of illness. Rather, it is a very robust state of physical and emotional well being that acknowledges the importance and inseparability of mind/body relationships. In the next program. I hope you will join me in the pursuit of learning how to exploit stress, so that it can work for you. and make you more productive, rather than self-destructive.
mom, you should put some of your things away. baby proof this house, stated our oldest son mark as he lumbered up the stairs followed by his wife, kim, and fifteen-month-old hannah.
visiting for the thanksgiving holiday, he finished unloading the luggage and took it to the guestroom downstairs. after driving all day from salt lake to ft. collins, his temper showed. that one finger rule may work with the twins, but itll never work with hannah, he insisted. when my three granddaughters were born four months apart and the twins moved into our house at eight months, my close friend offered me her secret to entertaining grandchildren with few mishaps. teach them the one finger rule all of her five grandchildren learned it at a young age. the success of the method surprised me. i picked up my granddaughter and said, well, mark, you just watch. i hugged her and walked all around the great room.
hannah, you may touch anything in this room you want. but, you can only use one finger. i demonstrated the technique by touching my forefinger to the african sculpture on the mantle. hannah followed my example. good girl. now what else would you like to touch? she stretched her finger toward another object on the mantle. i allowed her to touch everything in sight, plants, glass objects, tv, vcr, lamps, speakers, candles and artificial flowers. if she started to grab, i gently reminded her to use one finger. she always obeyed. but, hannah, an only child, possessed a more adventur ous personality. her father predicted it would prevent her from accepting theone fingerrule.
Should corporations continue to offer jobs for life or has this practice Already become obsolete? Personally, I concede that jobs for life are no longer in accordance with the thriving business of the 21st century.
Admittedly, staff will feel less pressured and more secure if they are guaranteed a job for life. Instead of feeling anxious regarding a future fraught with uncertainly, employees can still rely on their job even if other things go awry. However, the ultimate goal of any business enterprise—maximizes the profit—renders this type of job obsolete. First, in order to improve productivity, companies have to dismiss workers who are less competent or less industrious. Otherwise, retaining staff that are not qualified or cannot meet the standards is detrimental to business. Furthermore, since no jobs are provided for life, employees who are ambitious and hard-working will naturally be motivated to achieve excellence. In addition, the ubiquitous sense of competition also makes permanent jobs outmoded. Although life-long positions are offered occasionally to commend individuals who have made a major contribution, in most circumstances, contracts are drawn on a yearly basis.
In the final analysis, I believe that the diminishing of permanent jobs is inevitable and this is actually advantageous for societal progress.
What are your opinions about the advantages and disadvantages of fast food?
1) Harmfulness of Fake Commodities
2) the Influence of the Internet
In 1995, an Englishman killed a burglar who broke into his house. He was sentenced. Do you think he should be sentenced? How can we protect our property?
How can we protect our properties?(我們?nèi)绾伪Wo(hù)自己的財產(chǎn)?)
1) Advantages of a Harmonious Family
2) The importance of fresh drinking water
There is a big tree in front of my house. It looks like an open green umbrella. Its leaves are like a small fan. When the breeze blows, it gently swings and dances. From time to time, there are birds dancing among the branches, chirping happily. The beautiful butterfly seemed to hear the sweet song of the bird, and danced under the tree involuntarily.
Directions:
For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a composition on the topic Can Money Buy Happiness?
You should write no less than 100 words and you should base your composition on the outline below:
2.也有人認(rèn)為金錢是萬惡之源(root of all evil)
Can Money Buy Happiness?
范文:
Can money buy happiness? Various people have various answers. Some people think that money is the source of happiness. With money, one can buy whatever he enjoys. With money, one can do whatever he likes. So, in their minds, money can bring comfort, security, and so on. Money, as they think, is the source of happiness.
But there are still a lot of others who think that money is the root of all evil. Money drives people to steal, to rob, and to break the law. A lot of people became criminals just because they were in search of money. And in the Western countries, there is nothing that cant be bought by money. Many people lose their own lives when hunting it.
I think that money is essential to life and we cannot do without money. But even though money is necessary to life, it cant buy happiness. Happiness is not something that can be measured by money. It is a state of mind. One can have plenty of money, with which he can buy whatever he wants, and at the same time he is not happy because he is never satisfied or he is troubled by various kinds of problems. Therefore, although money is necessary for a happy life, it cant buy happiness.
