春節(jié)，我和父母回到了老家，家鄉(xiāng)的春節(jié)風俗有很多，但最讓我大開眼界的是舞龍。
During the Spring Festival, my parents and I went back to our hometown. There are many customs of Spring Festival in our hometown, but the most eye opening one is dragon dancing.
大年初一傍晚，我和家人來到市中心廣場上，到處都已經(jīng)擠滿了人，華燈齊放、禮花飛舞、煙花燦爛。不一會兒，有一輛充滿了民間風情的燈車停在了廣場的中心，那輛車上不停的'放音樂，頂上的充氣小人啊，一直在寒風中飄揚，突然從車里傳來了一陣敲鑼打鼓的聲音，接著一些少林寺的習武之人出現(xiàn)了，他們給大家表演了很多少林武術，有的舞棍，有的耍大刀，還有的不停的翻跟斗，讓我們贊不絕口。突然，主角出現(xiàn)了，兩只獅子和一頭龍跑了出來，這就是所謂的舞獅和舞龍吧，三只獅子滿場跑，一會兒你追我趕，一會兒翻滾騰挪，而這條很長很大的龍，在十幾個人的支撐下，不斷的翻滾，看起來就好像真的在天空中遨游一樣，一會兒跑、一會兒停、一會兒飛、一會兒還滑，真是好玩極了，特別是龍頭做得很形象，看起來好像真的一樣。

Most students know nothing except the textbook, which makes them feel hard to get start. What’s worse, some graduates don’t learn well in school. They neither have experience nor master the the oretical knowledge. In addition, the majority of students are the little prince and princess at home. They haven’t suffered any hardship with the protection oftheir parents. As a result, they can’t endure hardship or easily give up when meeting difficulties.

媽媽來檢查，前面幾個內(nèi)容還簡單，到了后面就有點吃不消了，怎么讀呀、意思是什么呀一個個問題出現(xiàn)在我的腦子里，媽媽見我這么多都不會，叫爸爸來教我，爸爸教一個，我讀一個，后來還是一個記不住，只有硬著頭皮學，剛好英語書上有一個內(nèi)容題目叫“讀讀寫寫”，爸爸就讓我抄了一遍，這一抄，問題更大，要么拿筆姿勢不對，要么眼睛離書本太近，要么單詞書寫不規(guī)范……問題一個接一個。
我剛想抱怨英語單詞太難，可又一想，這全都怪我平時上英語課不認真，老師講課時，我在底下傳紙條、做小動作、說話，根本沒把老師放在眼里，沒有意識到英語的重要性。聽爸爸說，上中學以后，英語和語文數(shù)學一樣重要，高考時英語不行也考不上好大學，就算考上了好大學，連英語都不會說，怎么和外國人交流？我可不想成為一個“少壯不努力，老大徒傷悲”的人。
想到這里，我決定暑假一定要補好英語：
一， 每天早上跟磁帶讀單詞，讀到會讀為止；
二， 每天早上聽寫十個單詞，寫到會寫為止；
三， 熟記課文意思，記會為止。

初次上課，我翻出一堆英語字母卡片，來到客廳。此時奶奶已經(jīng)搬上小板凳，端端正正地坐著，兩只眼睛有神的看著小黑板。我拿出字母A，大聲念道A—，奶奶也專注地念道哎—，我一聽，笑得前俯后仰，連忙糾正，經(jīng)過幾個來回，奶奶終于會讀第一個字母A了，她高興得像個小孩手舞足蹈。之后，經(jīng)過我九牛二虎之力和孜孜不倦地教導，以及奶奶認真的那股鉆勁，折騰幾番后，奶奶終于學會了幾個基本的字母。而我呢，早已教的筋疲力盡，口干舌燥了，匆匆甩下抄寫的作業(yè)，就逃之夭夭了。
經(jīng)過三四天，奶奶竟然一口氣把英語字母學完了，在我們驚嘆之余，也由衷地打心底佩服奶奶那股不可估量的專心勁和驚人的毅力。當然也有我小老師教得好的份喲！奶奶也喜笑顏開，對自己學習成就頗有滿意。
本想解放幾天，可沒過幾天，奶奶的英語熱又來了。這不，直嚷著讓我教她英語單詞�？粗棠痰男判囊褯Q，我又只好再次上崗。我從簡單的音標開始教起。起初，奶奶對那些鬼畫符似的音標記得直跺腳。后來，慢慢的，奶奶發(fā)現(xiàn)音標其實很有趣，很好記，便跟著我耐心地學起來。一天，兩天，很快，奶奶掌握了元音音標，輔音音標，讓我們不禁拍手叫好！
學習完音標，學起單詞就輕而易舉了。我拿起課本，奶奶看著音標，嘗試著拼出了單詞。當然不會的`部分，奶奶便向我請教。這樣細細琢磨，奶奶終于學會了英語！奶奶笑得眼睛瞇成一條縫，臉上皺紋舒展開了，人仿佛年輕了好幾歲�；叵肫饋恚棠虒W英語也不容易，從一遍一遍地聽，一遍一遍的讀，到費盡心思地記，地寫，奶奶流下了不少汗。這也應該是一分耕耘一分收獲吧！

How clever are you? How do we measure intelligence? Where did your intelligence come from? Scientists now believe that our genes strongly influence how our brain develops. We inherit our genes from our parents.
In other words, we inherit our intelligence from our parents. This does not mean that we cannot do anything to develop ourselves. Each of us must decide how to use our brains and how to develop our skills.
Scientists have studied sets of identical twins. They have found that certain areas of the brain are strongly influenced by our parents, and that these areas influence intelligence. dentical twins have almost identical brains. When they did tests,scientists found that identical twins had very similar scores in tests with numbers, words, shapes and memory. This was not true with non-identical twins, or brothers and sisters; they had great differences in their test scores.
However, our success as adults is not simply a matter of how clever we are. Our ability to work with other people is also important. In addition, our determination, confidence and our courage also play important parts. We may inherit our intelligence from our parents but we must decide how to live our own lives. We cannot blame our parents!
There is one area where our parents can help us. When we are children, they can provide us with a stimulating environment in which to live. This will help to develop our brains and develop our confidence. If parents encourage their children to listen to music, to play a musical instrument, to play with puzzles, to draw pictures and to read books, then their children are likely to become more intelligent. Remember that when you become a parent!
