On the twenty-fourth of December, all children are very excited. Usually they are sent to bed early so that their parents can get the presents ready. The younger children think that Father Christmas will come down the chimney or fireplace, so they hang up a sock for him to put presents in. The greedy ones even hang up a pillow-case or a sack to try to get more presents. Later that night, father or mother will put presents in the sock, and leave others at the side of the bed.
在12月24日這天，所有的小孩都很興奮。他們常常被(父母)早早地趕上床去睡覺，以便他們的`父母能準(zhǔn)備好禮物。年幼一點的小孩認(rèn)為圣誕老人將從煙囪或壁爐里下來，所以他們掛起襪子，方便圣誕老人把禮物放進(jìn)去。有些貪心的人，為了能得到更多的禮物，甚至把枕套或布袋掛起來。晚一些時候，爸爸或媽媽將禮物放進(jìn)襪子，并把其他禮物放在孩子們的床邊。

等大家安靜下來，老師開始報單詞了。老師說：“NO 1 use”，然后，我們就寫在聽寫本上。老師一個接著一個的報著單詞。不過，幸好，我昨天在抄寫的時候，我是認(rèn)真的抄寫的。而且，我抄寫完了以后，媽媽還叫我背過，記過。媽媽還口頭讓我背出所有抄寫過的單詞的呢！我想我這次聽寫肯定是胸有成竹的了，沒有什么好怕的啦！我正想著，忽然，老師報到“run”這個單詞，我一下子愕然了。這個單詞昨天沒有抄寫過呀！老師這是唱的哪出戲呀？不過，幸好，我以前記過。我是沒有問題的，我能寫出來的.。我想，肯定有好些同學(xué)都寫不出來的。就這樣，老師報完了所有的單詞，我們交了聽寫本子。
到傍晚的時候，老師把英語本子發(fā)下來，我一看，哈哈！我全對。我還是蠻厲害的呀！我暗自竊喜著。
