The early evening hours may be called TV time for the country, because as many as 50% of the English nation (over 4 years of age) fixes their eyeballs on the boob tube. They switch from one show to another, for information or entertainment. The typical English needs for the theatre art can be satisfied only by TV — there are always plays shown from Shakespeare to Tennessee.
