常在網(wǎng)上看到爭論英語學習的帖子，其意見大致有兩種：
一、全球化趨勢明顯，英語已成為一項重要的技能，為與老外交流，必學；
二、英語是可以學，但不能提升到高于中文的高度，不能本末倒置。
我覺得兩種意見有有理，因為持意見人學英語的目的不同，所以難免各有所見。但我更偏向于第一種。就我個人來說，理由有三。
首先我喜歡美景，尤其是那地中海柔軟的沙灘、明媚的陽光，和愛琴海湛藍的海水以及那撲面而來的浪漫氣息，多么令人陶醉。所以為了能順利地在國外溜達，學好英語是十分必要的。要是能結(jié)交個黃發(fā)碧眼的俊男美女，那豈不是更過癮？！
我想我現(xiàn)在學英語是比較吃力的，因為我已經(jīng)過了學習語言的最好年齡了。究其原因，因為我的父母不精通英語。所以啊，為了將來我的下一代，我必須得好好努力，學好英語，從小對他（她）進行雙語教學。然后我就培養(yǎng)出一個大人才，哈哈……打住，又做白日夢了。以上是我學英語的目的之二。
這第三點，其實是最重要的.一點——上大學�，F(xiàn)在英語也是中、高考中的一個“重地”了。眾所周知，在戰(zhàn)爭中取得重地便能有效制敵，取得先機。在考場上也是如此，英語可有150分啊，我怎么能讓這1/5的分值從我指中溜走呢？我“寒窗苦讀”了十多年，不就是想考個好高中、好大學嗎？為了不被擠下“獨木橋”，我必須學好英語。
在這么多“功利性”目的的驅(qū)使下，我努力學習著英語。但是我相信，終有一天，我會真正喜歡上英語本身。我也相信，有一天，我能像使用漢語一樣地使用英語。

Something must be done to stop the pollution. And I think it’s a great shame to waste while millions are in great need of water.
I think what we can do is that we have to save every drop of water as possible as we can. For example, we must turn off the tap immediately after we use it. We can use a basin to wash our hands and faces. It’s also a good idea to encourage my friends and family members to join me!
Only in this way can we live happily. If we don’t save water, the last drop of water will be a tear-drop of us. I believe if everyone makes a little effort, we can make a big difference.
