Language Laboratories Should Be Used Effectively
The chief drawback (缺陷) of oral interview tests (口試) is the time which is needed. Each student must be tested individually (個(gè)別地),and even a short test which takes only five or 10 minutes becomes very time-consuming (費(fèi)時(shí)的) when given separately to 30 students.
The use of a language makes it possible to give oral tests to a large number of students in a short time. But it would be foolish to claim (聲稱(chēng)) that a speaking test using pre-recorded (事先錄音的.)material could ever be superior (優(yōu)于) to a genuine (真正的) face-to-face interview.
Nevertheless,for certain limited purposes,a language laboratory can offer a means of encouraging students to speak English and to become accustomed to responding (回答) various questions which may possibly arise (出現(xiàn)) in real life.
Examples will be given in this section of the types of oral exercises and activities for use in the language laboratory.

上課前，Meggle都會(huì)在我們男生和女生中間畫(huà)一條界線。把我們男女生分成兩組。接著在黑板上畫(huà)兩個(gè)圓圈，在里面畫(huà)一些愛(ài)心，然后在下面畫(huà)幾條橫線，分成兩半，一半是男生的，一半是女生的。每組的任何一個(gè)人只要答對(duì)一個(gè)問(wèn)題就可以把自己那組的磁鐵往上移一層，當(dāng)移到最上邊那條線的時(shí)候就可以擦掉對(duì)方的一顆愛(ài)心，到最后哪一方的愛(ài)心少，那么那一方就算輸了。
